Today we’re sharing our very first vlog, wohoo! The topic is food and mindfulness – something that’s near and dear to our hearts as we’ve both overcome eating disorders in the past.

Here’s our theory: in modern culture there’s so much focus and emphasis on WHAT we’re eating (think: super specific diets, calculus-level calorie counting or a miles-long list of what you can’t eat) and very little focus on HOW we’re eating. And interestingly enough, what we’ve found is that how you eat is just as important as what you’re eating. In fact, we think that focusing on how you’re eating is the number one way to heal your relationship with food.

In this vlog we’re sharing three ways you can integrate mindfulness to heal your relationship with food:

  • Intentionally infuse your food with positive vibration music, mantra and thought
  • Use breath techniques to shift into a parasympathetic state, maximize nutrient absorption and keep your metabolism humming along
  • Incorporate reverence and rituals to feel more satisfied at meal time, and to further infuse your food with positive, healing vibrations
Check it out and let us know what you think! If you have any other ways that you incorporate mindfulness into your relationship with food, we’d love to hear from you in the comments below. And be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel!

P.S. We mention Dr. Emoto’s experiments with water and rice – here’s the link if you’d like to check it out yourself!
